Instructional Technology Specialist
Vestavia Hills Elementary School--Liberty Park
Vestavia Hills Elementary School--Central

2005 - 2009

I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work as a technology specialist in the Vestavia Hills City School system. While at Liberty Park Elementary, I sponsored the school's broadcast and yearbook programs. Each school in the system had a technology specialist. Still, the ITS group worked together with the Central Office Technology Staff at the district level to create a strong technology program. Some of the highlights of my career as an ITS were working on the team that rolled out the standardized interactive classroom for all district teachers and working with the ITS group to develop an annual, high-quality district technology conference.

I then moved to Mountain Brook Junior High, where I taught computer skills while assisting their Technology Coordinator. During my time there, I also took over maternity leave for one of the other building-level Technology Coordinators, and I coached cheerleading.
